Jonesboro man dead following house fire, officials investigating cause

JACKSON PARISH, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal is investigating a house fire that resulted in the death of a Jonesboro man.

Officials say the fire occurred just before 7 a.m. on Friday, June 5 in the 300 block of Holley Drive in Jonesboro.

According to authorities, a 26-year-old man was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from injuries related to smoke inhalation.

Fire officials say the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but they have confirmed the home did not have a working smoke alarm.
