Child’s autopsy photos bring jurors to tears in Leesville murder trial
Day 2 of Terrie Gray’s trial for abuse, death of boyfriend’s 4-year-old daughter
LEESVILLE, La. (KPLC) - Another emotional day in court is underway in a Leesville woman’s trial for the abuse and murder of a 4-year-old girl.

Terrie Gray, 49, and her boyfriend, Logan Miller, 26, are accused in the 2024 death of Miller’s young daughter, Athena. They are both charged with first-degree murder and two counts of child cruelty.

The first day of testimony in Gray’s trial brought jurors to tears as witnesses described the physical abuse inflicted on Athena and her younger brother. The defense argued that Miller was responsible for the abuse, not Gray.
The forensic pathologist who performed Athena’s autopsy took the stand this morning. He showed photos of severe injuries all over her body and said they could not have been self-inflicted.
The family in the gallery could not look at the photos, and some of the jurors began crying. The defense is expected to cross-examine the witness after a recess.
Brendan Brown is in the courtroom and will have updates throughout the day.
Miller is set to go to trial later this year.
