Authorities asking for information after toddler found alone in ditch on side of road
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB/Gray News) – Authorities in Nebraska are looking for answers after a 15-month-old girl was found alone in a ditch on the side of a rural road.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Department said a passerby saw the toddler sitting in a ditch off South Marian Road in rural Adams County on Saturday morning.
The sheriff’s office said the child was in “fair” condition.
Responding deputies and paramedics took the child to a local hospital for further evaluation and care.
The toddler is now in the custody of the Department of Health and Human Services.
The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in this case. Officials said they are still trying to identify the person(s) responsible.
