MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A Winn Parish man was arrested and law enforcement raided his house after a lengthy investigation into the distribution of fentanyl.

The Winn Parish Sheriff’s Office obtained arrest warrants for Keyondrick Mills on June 4. However, WPSO said Mills traveled to Texas before they could serve the warrants.

Texas State Police were alerted about the situation and arrested Mills in Van Zandt County. Mills was arrested on the Winn Parish charges and other drug-related charges.

WPSO searched two of Mills’ homes in Winnfield after his arrest.

Deputies said they found several drugs and fake money at one of the homes, located at 135 Dunbar Street. According to deputies, they found:

  • 100 suspected Fentanyl pills
  • 84.6 grams of methamphetamine
  • 45 OxyContin pills
  • 31 Hydrocodone pills
  • 340.9 grams of Mojo
  • $2,225 in real cash
  • Fake money with a street value of $12,600

Law enforcement said more warrants are expected based on evidence found during their searches of Mills’ homes.

“To those involved in illegal drug activity, particularly the distribution, transportation, or use of fentanyl, I strongly encourage you to reconsider your actions,” said Winn Parish Sheriff Josh McAllister. “We are taking firm and deliberate steps to protect the safety and well-being of our parish. Fentanyl is claiming far too many lives, and I am tired of having to deliver the heartbreaking news to families that their loved one will not be coming home due to a fatal overdose.”

McCallister said he thanks Winn Parish deputies as well as the Caldwell Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety for their help in arresting Mills.
