West Monroe’s softball stars Kenzie Vestal and Maddie Nichols slugged their way into the state championship finals in their senior season. Vestal will continue her softball career at Bossier Parish Community College, while Nichols heads to ULM.
Bryanna Craig will continue her career at Louisiana Tech and Jada Williams will travel west to compete for TCU. Their accomplishments throughout their their high school career earned them this weeks Aaron’s Ace award.
Claiborne Christian has a rich history of baseball championships. Head coach Chad Olinde has multiple state championships and coach of the year awards under his belt but after a slow start to the season, the Crusaders finally found their footing. 6′5 pitcher AJ Allen was a huge x-factor in the state championship run for the Crusaders.
Tony Antley has been the head coach for Aggies baseball for over three decades. This season he finally put up the cleats and retired on top with a storybook ending. Antley leave Choudrant with six state titles.
OCS and Saint Frederick are slugging it out in the 2022 division four semi-final match. Zach White has carried the Eagles with 43 RBI’s on the season. If it wasn’t for Thomas Marsala’s walk off grand slam, the Warriors wouldn’t be here. Both players have earned this weeks Aaron’s Aces honors.
Congratulations to Richwood’s Courtney McCarthy as he becomes the newest Aaron’s Ace. The junior is one of the top scorers in the country averaging 32 points and 12 rebounds a game. McCarthy is coming off an eye popping performance as he scored 46 points and pulled down 15 rebounds in a loss to Neville.
West Monroe head coach Jerry Arledge is being recognized by National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame for his contribution to Amateur football. Sports Director Aaron Dietrich caught up with the Rebels' coach to take a walk down memory lane and also about his future on the Rebels' sidelines.
