Previous Story:

As flood waters recede, we are starting to see massive devastation left in the wake of the ArkLaMiss Flood of 2016. Twenty inches of rain in 48-hours have displaced thousands of residents and have brought everyday life to a standstill in our parishes and communities.

Through this devastation, we are witnessing the resilient spirits of ArkLaMiss residents come together, as neighbors help neighbors and churches and other volunteer organizations assist in recovery efforts. Still, many are asking what more they can do to assist those in need.

Tuesday, March 15th, KNOE is teaming up with the American Red Cross to host “8 Hours of Caring, A Flood Relief Telethon Benefitting the ArkLaMiss.” From 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM we will ask our viewers to make secure monetary donations to the American Red Cross to assist with flood recovery efforts in the ArkLaMiss. Due to the magnitude of this disaster, all of the money donated will stay in the communities, parishes and counties served by KNOE 8 News.

Beginning at 2:00 PM, KNOE will dedicate all of it commercial inventory, during normally scheduled programming, to our live telethon efforts. Our live reports from the KNOE studios and the field will also be streamed live on KNOE.COM and viewers will find secure links to pledge on our social media platforms.

Call 318-998-4936 (local) OR 844-317-8373 (toll free) to donate during our telethon, 2pm - 10pm

This effort cannot be successful without the help of numerous ArkLaMiss businesses and community leaders. CenturyLink is setting up a phone bank in our studios and we are inviting community leaders and officials to be a part of our effort through live appearances and donations during the 8-hour telethon.

Please do not let this opportunity pass without getting your parish, community, business and organization involved in this relief effort. Contact us now at (318) 388-8888 or by email at news@knoe.com if you are willing to appear during our live programming to present a donation, are willing to serve as a member of our live phone bank, or are willing to challenge others to roll up their sleeves and pull out their checkbooks.

Together we can, and will, make a difference for those in need.
