OAK GROVE, La (KNOE 8 News) - Update: West Carroll Parish Sheriff Jerry Philley tells KNOE they received a call around 9:00 AM Monday reporting a plane was on fire.

When emergency crews arrived at Macon Front Road in Oak Grove they discovered a crop duster plane crash. They found Danny Morgan Jr., the pilot from Pioneer, inside the wreckage.

Philley says Morgan was killed on impact and he was in the plane alone. The preliminary investigation shows Morgan was crop dusting in a field north of where the crash happened. The sheriff says his wing likely clipped some branches causing him to lose control of the plane.

The FAA is on the way to the scene to investigate the crash. Morgan's body was sent to Little Rock for an autopsy.
