MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Reports are swirling Brookshires Grocery Company may soon be sold to the highest bidder.
This is according to unnamed sources, who were not authorized to talk about the estimated one billion dollar value, supposedly placed on Brookshires during talks with J.P. Morgan Chase and Company for an auction of the company's assets.
A Reuters article initially broke news of the possible sale, which is considered confidential. Brookshires and J.P. Morgan both refusing to comment on the possible sale.
Brookshires operates several grocery store locations within the Ark-La-Miss, including a distribution center in Monroe.
