OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - It's a sight not many people see - an alligator in a living room. But that's exactly what happened Tuesday morning in Sterlington.
"And all of the sudden I saw something wave at me, and it was the alligator's tail," David Bradford said. "I got a little bit closer and said, 'What in the devil is that?' I got a little bit closer and it was a big alligator."
Bradford was the first to spot the alligator in a new home being built in Sterlington. He says he's never seen anything like it.
"Never, never in a house. I've never seen one that big," Bradford said.
Jeromy Pruitt, a professional nuisance hunter, says he was just as surprised.
"It freaked me out. I was like how did this thing get in here and what is he doing?" Pruitt said.
Pruitt says the alligator didn't take too kindly when asked to leave.
"He was hissing at me a little bit. He was pretty upset because I was fixing to take him out of his house," Pruitt said.
Jeromy, with the help of his dad Jeff Pruitt, tied the alligator up and forced it out of the home.
Jeromy says the birds and the bees are to blame for the uninvited guest.
"It's alligator mating season. He's going around to look for a companion. He can't stay where he is because there's probably a bigger bull alligator there that drove him out. So he's got to find his on girlfriends," Pruitt said.
