KNOE is looking for an experienced, passionate sports journalist to join our award-winning team and fight for great, local sports stories.
KNOE is the long-time leader in local sports. KNOE has won Louisiana Association of Broadcasters "Best Sports Show" four out of the last five years. You’ll produce and anchor sportscasts that go beyond predictable highlights and profiles, sharing stories of success and empowerment that resonate across Northeast Louisiana. With sports features, you’ll regularly showcase the community’s heartwarming, inspiring, outrageous and unusual stories. An ideal candidate will be comfortable independently enterprising content and use their storytelling skills to offer meaningful context to sports news. You’ll also take an active role in our Associated Press-winning sports team and our high school football productions, including award-winning Friday Night Blitz.
This high-energy, high-expectations position requires solid news judgment, a strong background in photojournalism and dynamic storytelling abilities. You must have a passion for delivering original, imaginative content every day. A robust personality, comfort in live television reporting and a positive, compelling attitude are essential for this role.
You’re joining a team of exceptional journalists that are committed to our community and work to make it better, both on and off camera.
• Researching and creating daily content for television, social and web platforms, including dynamic live shots and packages
• Identifying and enterprising relevant local feature stories
• Meeting daily and weekly deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Creating and facilitating working relationships with the local sports community
• Developing feature franchise content, which may require travel and time outside of a standard workday
-College degree in Mass Communications or Journalism
-Experience in shooting video and non-linear editing
-Able to routinely lift camera equipment
-Strong on-air presence field and studio live
-Experienced writer, storyteller
-Producer with previous anchoring experience preferred
