Lisa Taylor from the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo joined us in the studio with two Jungle Carpet Pythons.

The Carpet Pythons originate from North Australia. These types of snakes are more long and fragile rather than large and thick.

They love eating mammals, birds, rats and more. They can grow up to 9 feet long. They're called Carpet Pythons due to their skin resembling a pattern on a carpet.

A new event is taking place at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo called “Rendezvous at the Zoo.”

Taylor says it will be an evening event evening where folks can come and check out the zoo after 5 p.m. There will be entertainment, animal encounters, a variety of good food, boat and train rides for families to enjoy and much more.

Taylor adds this event was inspired by the love of food the folks have here in Louisiana.

The event is in partnership with Zoological Society and the Restaurant Association.

The event is scheduled for March 26. Taylor says ticket prices will be announced soon.
