MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Wednesday, Jefferson Upper Elementary School in Monroe got a new American flag. They say their flag was very worn so they reached out for help to return the flag to its former glory.
Wossman High School's ROTC group delivered a new flag to the school and helped put it up. The school says they greatly appreciate all the help from the Wossman Wildcats.
"The Wossman High School ROTC, under the direction of Sgt. Russell Gibson visited Jefferson Upper Elementary today to present them with a new American Flag. The school was in need of a new flag because theirs was quite worn. Mrs. Anderson and the Jefferson students and staff greatly appreciate the generosity of The Wossman Wildcats," said a statement from Jefferson Upper Elementary.
And for other organizations with worn or tattered flags, you can call some local groups for a new one. Reach out to the Chennault Aviation and Military Museum, American Legion on Forsythe Avenue, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1809 if you’re looking for a new flag.
