A Massachusetts doctor thinks he's come up with the recipe for the world's best mosquito repellent.
Unlike other repellents that need to be reapplied every two to four hours, he helped design a unique formula that will stay on the skin for days at a time. Like other repellents, it uses natural standbys like citronella and oil of lemon, but this new repellent also contains a new ingredient: a special polymer, or adhesive, that doctors use in surgeries.
Globally, mosquitoes are one of the deadliest animals in the world. The World Health Organization says "their ability to carry and spread disease causes millions of deaths every year."
The doctor and his partners hope to start selling the product sometime next year.
