Authorities have announced the arrests of two people from Winnfield charged in connection with setting a house on fire.

According to the state fire marshal's office, the fire happened in 500 block of Brewer Road in Dodson on Nov. 4.

They say Courtney Weaver, 25, and Tristen Hill, 18, had been staying with Weaver's boyfriend when an argument broke out in which the homeowner told them to move out.

Witnesses told investigators that Weaver set the fire as she left the home with her child and belongings. Investigators say Hill admitted to witnessing Weaver set the fire when they left. The fire was started on the front porch.

Weaver was booked into the Winn Parish Jail on one count each of Simple Arson and Child Desertion.

Hill, who was already in custody for an unrelated case, was booked for Accessory After the Fact to Simple Arson.
