West Monroe woman facing attempted murder charges

WEST MONROE, LA. (West Monroe Police Dept.) A West Monroe woman is facing attempted murder charges, after arrest records show she stabbed someone multiple times during an argument.

Arrest records show the incident happened a little after midnight Sunday morning in the 400 block of Crosley Street in West Monroe.

The report says Althea Sims stabbed a man three times in the arm and abdomen after he confronted her about stealing his money. The man was taken to the hospital and needed surgery for his injuries.

According to the report, Sims told police she stabbed the victim once their verbal argument turned physical. She also told police she used the knife to cut up her food after stabbing the victim.

Sims was arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder.
