West Monroe man accused of punching woman & 3-year-old in the head

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested a man accused of physically attacking a woman and their 3-year-old child.

According to court records, it happened on July 3, 2019, in south Ouachita Parish just off of Jonesboro Road.

The adult victim told authorities that she was in a truck with the suspect, Blaine Alan Payne, and their child when Payne got angry with her. She says Payne shoved her head into the passenger window several times and then pulled over.

Records state she told authorities that she then got into the back seat of the truck with their child. She says Payne continued to yell at her from the front seat. While yelling, Payne is accused of punching the child in the head and the woman in the face.

She says Payne then pulled them out of the truck and left them on the side of the road.

The victim told authorities she has not lived with the suspect since January 2019.

Payne was later located on Aug. 6, 2019, during another investigation in the 1600 block of Hwy 557, according arrest records. Authorities say Payne was found to be in possession of 10 Xanax bars at this time.

Payne is charged with cruelty to juveniles, domestic abuse battery, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance, schedule IV.
