WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - A West Monroe man is accused of operating a drug lab.
The Metro Narcotics Unit arrested Michael Karty Wednesday night. Officials say Waste Management collected Karty's trash and agents found two heat-sealed bags, a drug ledger, and a THC electronic smoking device.
Inside Karty's home in the 100 block of Height Street authorities say they found a pill press, 40 oxycodone-laced fentanyl tablets, a nasal relief bottle with fentanyl, 3 grams of heroin, two handguns, and other drug paraphernalia.
According to court documents, he told officers that he purchases oxycodone-laced Fentanyl tablets, cuts them with a binder, represses them, and sells the new tablets for a profit.
He's charged with creation or operation of a clandestine lab, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and possession with intent to distribute.
