WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities need your help to find a man accused of forcibly raping a woman at a West Monroe motel.
According to court records, the victim described a violent encounter with Rodriquez Brantley at the Comfort Inn and Suites on June 1, 2019 . The victim told police she was held in a room against her will, choked multiple times and raped. Police say at one point, the victim lost consciousness after being choked.
She also said the suspect hurt her multiple times in the past. Police say Brantley has a violent criminal history, including arrests for a drive-by shooting, domestic abuse. and armed robbery.
Brantley is considered a flight risk due to connections in Monroe, Ruston, Shreveport, Dallas, and Odessa, Texas. He is known to evade law enforcement by changing addresses and vehicles, according to police.
West Monroe police have released the following information.
On 6/01/2019 a rape occurred at the Comfort Inn and Suites located at 213 Constitution Drive in West Monroe, Louisiana. The victim advised she was held against her will by suspect Rodriquez Brantley (3/16/1980) and forced to have sex with him while he held her down. At one point, the victim lost consciousness after being choked.
An arrest warrant has been filed with the Fourth Judicial District Court for Rodriquez Brantley (Black / Male Height: 511 Weight: 220 Eye Color: Brown). He is being charged with one count of 1st Degree Rape. A District Court Judge signed the warrant and Brantley will be held without bond once arrested.
