WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Work on two of four roundabouts under construction on Arkansas Road in the West Monroe area are nearly complete.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development expects the roundabouts at Warren Drive and Kiroli Road to be completed no later than August 22, 2019.
Once these roundabouts are complete, traffic signals will no longer be used. Drivers will need to start using the roundabouts at this time.
According to DOTD, roundabouts improve safety, help decrease fuel consumption and carbon emissions by reducing vehicle delay, and they are more cost-effective than operating and maintaining traffic lights.
If you are new to roundabouts, DOTD offers the following instructions:

The roundabouts are part of the Arkansas Road widening project that's been underway since 2016.
The other two roundabouts being constructed on Arkansas Road are at Good Hope Road and Forty Oaks Farm Road.
