The Farmerville Gazette says it happened Thursday in Rocky Branch, while they were target shooting in the woods.

The teen was shot in the head, and revived at a local hospital. But, died after being taken to Shreveport. Incidents like this raise concerns about gun safety.

"Hiding guns. I know as a kid I knew where all the guns were in the house and everyone does," Bill Petrus, owner of T.P. Outdoors said. "So, keep them locked up and train your kids to handle guns properly."

Petrus also says accidents do happen, but reminds people that guns come with a locking mechanism that should be used.
