Two people dead after car hits deer in Lincoln Parish

RUSTON, La. (KNOE) - Two people are dead after their car hit a deer, went off the road and hit several trees in Lincoln Parish.

A spokesman for the Louisiana State Police says shortly after midnight on Sunday, troopers from LSP Troop F responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on LA Hwy 821 just east of LA Hwy 33.

This crash took the life of both the driver and passenger of the vehicle.

LSP's initial investigation revealed the crash happened as 29-year-old Christopher Brady was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe east on LA Hwy 821, when the car hit a deer on the roadway, traveled off the roadway and hit several trees. An LSP spokesman says the passenger, 27-year-old Savannah Holden, was trapped inside and had to be extricated.

Both Brady and Holden were taken to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.

This crash remains under investigation.

In 2019, Troop F has investigated 12 fatal crashes resulting in 14 deaths.
