Two in custody for shooting that left 36-year-old Vicksburg man dead

Two people are in custody for a shooting that left one man dead. A Vicksburg man was shot in the head Friday morning.

20-year-old Elijah Eugene Qualls Jr. and 21-year-old Demarcus James Qualls are both being charged with second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Their bonds are both set at $1 million each.

Friday, September 20th, around 12:51 a.m., police responded to shots being fired and one person being shot in the 1100 block of Fayette Street.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the street where he was still breathing.

The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Dematric Lamar Clark.

Clark had sustained one gunshot wound to the head and later died from his injuries.

This homicide is still under investigation.
