Two accused of stealing catalytic converters from vehicles in Ruston area

RUSTON, La. (KNOE) - Authorities say two people have been arrested on 19 charges each for the theft of catalytic converters.

According to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office, Charles Arthur Brantley and Bobby Dean Sutton are accused of cutting and stealing the catalytic converters from cars in the Ruston area.

They say multiple businesses reported the thefts on Monday, September 9, 2019.

The suspects were arrested on Sept. 12.

Brantley and Sutton each face nine counts of felony theft, nine counts of felony criminal damage, and one count of criminal trespass.

Catalytic converters are commonly sold by thieves for hundreds of dollars.

Catalytic converters can be very expensive to replace.
