OUACHITA/LINCOLN PARISH, La. (KNOE) - On Tuesday, after the wintry mix of snow and ice hit the Ark-La-Miss several tow truck companies kept busy. John Howard with Donnie's Plunks towing said the phones were ringing off of the hook. He said his crew has responded to more than 60 phone calls.

Howard said in the South, drivers need to know how to slow down when the snow comes.
"You’ve got trees you can hit. It’s very dangerous, once your car is sliding, you cannot stop it," he said.
Howard is advising all drivers to get fuel early just in case an accident happens and add blankets to their vehicles to keep warm while waiting for help.
