Many people in Northeast Louisiana honored tonight for their service to the community.

The "Top 20 Under 40" honors 20 outstanding nominees, all under 40-years-old.

They were selected from a group of 53 before it was narrowed down to 20.

The event highlights their career success and being active in the community.

Our Chris Brown is one of the nominees, who also received a certificate.

"It's so refreshing to see how many people are committed to the community, getting involved in a magnitude of different ways, and just interested in making it better," said Sue Nicholson, the Monroe Chamber of Commerce President & CEO.

This event has been going on for four to five years.
