MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Even though we started off our morning on a chilly note we could've been much, much cooler.
Thanks to a breezy northwest wind around 15 mph, gusting 20-25 mph, this morning our temperatures didn't cool as quickly as expected even with clear skies.
The wind will subside through the day today and temperatures will be slightly cooler than yesterday, only reaching the upper 50s.
Clear sky and sunshine will continue through the rest of the work week, as well as the mild temperatures, but we will get a little bit of a warm up back into the lower 70s by Friday.
This is due to the southerly wind returning to the area as well as a little bit of low level moisture.
We'll see a few clouds move overhead Friday evening becoming overcast through Saturday, with showers and storms developing Saturday afternoon.
The rain will linger overnight into early Sunday morning, but we should be pretty dry going into the afternoon.
We'll have a little clearing as a cold front passes Sunday afternoon, then mostly clear on Monday and plenty of sunshine returning Tuesday.
