Sterlington man accused of shooting in Monroe

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Authorities have arrested a Sterlington man accused of shooting at a vehicle in Monroe. Inside the vehicle, police say, was the mother of his child.

According to court records, it happened in mid-March in the area of South 26th and Coolidge Street.

The victim told Monroe police that she and another person drove by the suspect, Devonte Douglas, who was standing next to an SUV.

The victim says Douglas pulled out a gun and fired 4-5 shots at their vehicle. The victim stated that the back passenger side window was broken as a result of gunfire.

Douglas was arrested a few days later on two counts of attempted second degree murder.
