Shooting leaves one dead, one behind bars in Madison Parish

MADISON PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Authorities in Madison Parish have arrested a man accused of murder.

According to the Madison Parish Sheriff's Office, it happened on the evening of Oct. 8, 2019, in the Tallulah area.

Investigators say they received a 911 call around 7 p.m. about a shooting in the 400 block of Cooledge Street.

Once they arrived, they found Marvin Guy with a gunshot wound slumped outside his doorstep. The coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

Chadwick Hearn from Vicksburg, Mississippi, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the case.

According to the sheriff's office, the two didn't really know each other, but a verbal argument led to the shooting.

Hearn is being held on a 200,000 bond.
