BREAKING: Seven inmates back in custody after escaping from Madison Parish Detention Center

A spokesman with Louisiana State Police says all seven inmates are now back in custody.

Reporter Gwen Ducre says the school is no longer on lockdown and students are being allowed to go home.

According to reporter Dede Willis, 3 of the escaped inmates have now been caught.
Reporter Gwen Ducre, who is at the school, says the school is still on lockdown.

School is still on lockdown. No one can go in or come out.
Investigators still have not provided the names and pictures of the escapees, for which we have asked.
It's unclear what charges these inmates were being held on or how they escaped. Authorities are withholding that information at this time. We will continue to work to get it for you.
Update: 2:10 pm
Authorities are now telling us that one escapee has been captured. That leaves 6 escapees still on the loose. Louisiana State Police is working on getting us those names and photos so we will have them soon.

Louisiana State Police is now on the scene and setting up a command post.
Parents say they are frustrated because they cannot get to their children while the high school is on lockdown, across Interstate 20.
Madison Parish High School is several hundred feet from the jail.

Richland Parish Sheriff's Office and Louisiana State Police are assisting.

Madison Parish High School is on lockdown. Our reporter says this is a security lockdown with inmates having escaped nearby and has nothing to do with a specific threat toward the school.
