RUSTON, La. (KNOE) - Authorities have arrested a Ruston man accused of setting a house on fire while five people were inside, including three children.
According to the Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal, it happened in the 1600 block of Colonial Drive in the morning hours of Nov. 26.
They say 47-year-old Terrence Barber went to his estranged wife's home, started an argument with her and then threw a flammable liquid at her and set the house on fire.
Investigators say they also learned that Barber went to his estranged wife's workplace the night before.
Authorities say two adults and three children, ages 15, 6, and 3, were inside the home at the time. The fire marshal's office says everyone escaped unharmed.
Barber turned himself in to authorities on Thanksgiving.
He is charged with five counts of attempted first-degree murder and one count of aggravated arson.
