Ronald McDonald House hosts its annual Southern Living Christmas Cookbook Tasting Luncheon

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Ronald McDonald house in Monroe celebrated its annual Southern Living Cookbook Tasting luncheon Monday. Members of the board, volunteers, and others in the community cooked up recipes from this year’s cookbook.

All the proceeds from this year’s Southern Living Christmas Cookbook sold at our local Dillard’s go directly to the Ronald McDonald House here in Monroe.

The Monroe Ronald McDonald House Executive Director, Georgia Street, says this is their largest fundraiser of the year, and it couldn’t come at a better time. “This is just a great time, the Ronald McDonald house is a home away from home for families that have loved ones, babies, in the hospital,” says Street. “This is the time of year when families come back to see us, and that little baby that weighed 1.8 pounds is just thriving and growing, and so it's just a fun time of the year."

Street says they raised around $50,000 last year, and they hope to raise even more this year. The cookbook costs $10.
