FRANKLIN PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries says they've cited a Franklin Parish man for possession of a spotted fawn. They say they found the spotted fawn in the cooler of the man's restaurant, Golden Hen.
According to LDWF, a Franklin Parish Sheriff’s Office was doing a security check on the restaurant on Sept. 9th. The deputy found the spotted fawn in the cooler., then notified LDWF agents. When agents arrived at the restaurant, the fawn was gone. They went to the owner's home, where they found him butchering the fawn.
The owner says he found the fawn dead on the on side of Highway 17.
Somchanh Chanthapanya, 61, of Winnsboro, was cited for possession of a spotted fawn.
Possession of a spotted fawn carries a $500 to $750 fine and up 15 to 30 days in jail.
