It’s the time of year again when the Ouachita Parish Library has its One Book, One Ouachita community reading program.

The Ouachita Parish Public Library has selected Queen Sugar by Natalie Baszile as its 15th River Reads: One Book, One Ouachita title.

Danielle Kelley Tolbird, the communications coordinator, invites the community out to three of their programs themed around Queen Sugar.

Here is a list of the schedule below.

March 5: Women in Agriculture cooking with cane sugar

March 12: Box gardening, lip and body scrub crafts

March 18: Protecting Family Finances workshop

On April 23, author of Queen Sugar, Natalie Baszile, will be visiting Ouachita Parish to discuss more on her book as well as sign copies.

Queen Sugar is available for check out in regular print, large print, e-book, e-audiobook and book on CD.
