Reward offered for vandals who damaged logging equipment in Winn Parish

WINN PARISH, La. (KNOE) - The Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry says a reward is being offered in an effort to find those responsible for causing significant damage to some logging equipment in Winn Parish.

According to LDAF, it happened at a logging site off of L. Kieffer Rd. in St. Maurice on Oct. 17, 2019.

Agents say the vandals destroyed the radiator in a 2011 748 John Deere Skidder and made a large hole in the engine block of a 2014 643 John Deere Cutter.

Ag Commissioner Mike Strain said the crime has resulted in the shutdown of this logging operation and an estimated repair bill of $16,000.

Authorities are now offering a $2,000 reward for information to find the people responsible.
