Rainy day woes taking over Monroe
Severe storms have been dumping heavy rain, dangerous winds, and flooding throughout the Arklamiss. All of this triggered a severe weather threat on Wednesday.
Several people in Monroe said they feel the weather has been unpredictable.
“Wind one day, rain one day, it’s cold the next day. And then we have a pretty day where we can get a half day or a full day’s work in,” said Monroe resident Randy Lee.
For contractors and other people who work outdoors, severe weather conditions could mean a day out of work.
“If the wind was blowing bad, we would not be able to work,” said Monroe resident and contractor Dan Schill.
For commuters especially, the rain could pose a hardship while driving.
“Roads are wet, all the hidden potholes, just makes things miserable,” Lee said.
Officials said that the Union and East Carroll Parish School Districts will be closed on Thursday due to the inclement weather.
