MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Law enforcement officers are searching for 21-year-old Treanthony Williams after he escaped custody Wednesday.

Authorities say Williams escaped the custody of Mitchell Bail Bonds in the Roselawn area of Monroe.

They say Williams was left handcuffed in the back of the bondsman's vehicle unattended. He was able to manipulate the handcuffs, get into the driver's seat, and flee.

The vehicle has since been recovered.

Williams is wanted by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office for domestic abuse battery and domestic abuse by strangulation.

He's also wanted by the Monroe Police Dept. on charges of stolen vehicle and theft of a firearm.
