Police report reveals details of gas station shooting
Business is back to normal at the Shell Gas Station in West Monroe a day after a woman was shot in the bathroom.
"I think it's terrible you know we all want to live in a safe community and it's a shame that these things go on in your own front yard," says Mike Dlugosh who goes to the gas station.
Around 10:30 Monday morning the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office got a call about a woman who was shot, but before deputies arrived it was too late. They found 24-year-old Laquintina Qualls dead on the bathroom floor with a gunshot wound to the head.
Prior to the shooting, the police report says Qualls called a co-worker saying she was being held at gunpoint by 29-year-old Isaac Gee in her white Chevy Impala. A witness told deputies they heard four gunshots and watched Gee speed out of the parking lot. Gee was captured and arrested in Ruston following a one hour manhunt.
Mike Dlugosh comes by here every couple of weeks and says it's a nice gas station to stop at between West Monroe and Calhoun.
"I've never heard of anything happening here like this and it's a shame," says Dlugosh.
Some customers are aware of what happened here, but Dlugosh says it's not going to stop him.
"You know it's funny we talked about maybe we should meet at a different place, but I think this is an isolated event and I think we'll continue to come here."
For now Qualls suspected killer is behind bars on a million dollar bond and charged with second degree murder.
