Ouachita deputies increase undercover patrol for shopping season
The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office says it's increasing undercover patrol in and around shopping areas.
The announcement for their annual "Santa Claus Patrol" was posted on Facebook Monday afternoon.
The post says Special Crimes Apprehension Team deputies will be wearing plain clothes and driving unmarked vehicles to stores and parking lots frequented by shoppers.
Deputies will "patrol the parking lots of the retail outlets and also enter the store and move about with customers, watching for suspicious activity, such as potential shoplifters, robbers and other criminal activity."
The post says the operation will continue through the Christmas/New Year holiday season.
