OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A teen driver led deputies on a high-speed chase through oncoming traffic over the weekend, according to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office. At one point, the teen's vehicle even went airborne.

According to arrest records, a deputy saw a vehicle that had been reported stolen traveling north on Highway 165. When he tried to pull it over, the vehicle sped away. The deputy gave chase, and says at one point, the stolen vehicle crossed a set of railroad tracks, sending the vehicle airborne.

Deputies say the vehicle broke the speed limit, ran multiple stop signs and crossed into the oncoming lane three times.

They say the vehicle eventually turned onto Music Road where it left the roadway, crossed a ditch, and came to a stop. Both the driver and the passenger ran but were arrested a short time later.

The driver was identified as Fredderick Demetrius Caldwell. He was booked on charges of aggravated flight from an officer, theft of a motor vehicle, illegal possession of stolen things, and resisting an officer.

The vehicle was reportedly stolen from Powell Avenue.
