OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A Ouachita Parish woman is accused of attempted murder

According to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office, it happened on the afternoon of August 12, 2019.

Court records indicate that OPSO and Monroe police made contact with a man and a woman near Highway 165 and Winnsboro Road. They say the man had been shot in the leg.

Investigators say the woman, identified as 45-year-old Misty Lea Fuller, told them that she shot the man during a fight at their home on Brandin Road.

After being taken to the hospital, investigators say the victim told them that Fuller was extremely intoxicated and started a fight with him while he was in bed. He told investigators that Fuller started beating on him, then pulled out a gun and shot him. Court records state that the victim suffered critical injuries to his leg.

Investigators say that Fuller refused to speak further with them regarding the incident.

Misty Lea Fuller was arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on a charge of attempted second degree murder.
