OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A 41-year-old sex offender in Ouachita Parish has been arrested on multiple charges after allegedly offering a woman illegal drugs over Facebook. As a juvenile, that woman was the victim of another crime at the hands of the suspect, according to court records.
In 2013, Thomas Davidson was arrested for sending sexually explicit texts to his girlfriend's 14-year-old daughter. Davidson would have been about 35 years old at the time. He was charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and was sentenced to 3 years in jail. He is also required to register as a sex offender for 15 years, according to arrest records. In a letter to a judge, Davidson maintained his innocence after being sentenced.
According to arrest records, on July 3, 2019, the victim's mother told law enforcement officers that Davidson contacted her daughter through Facebook. Investigators say they contacted Davidson, who openly admitted to having a Facebook account. An examination of his phone revealed multiple instances of Davidson stating that he had some "dope" if the individual was in need. A subsequent search of his home turned up a bag of suspected meth, according to arrest records.
Davidson is also accused of failing to notify authorities of a previous change in residency in 2018 as required by law.
Davidson has an extensive criminal record, including multiple drug charges, theft, battery, and forgery.
According to court documents, Davidson has been arrested multiple times for possession with intent to distribute meth. In one case, he was arrested for having 116 grams of meth during a traffic stop in 2018.
Davidson is now charged with multiple felonies, including:
*Unlawful presence or contact of a sex offender relative to former victim
*Unlawful Use or Access of Social Media
*Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender
*Possession with Intent (CDSII)
