Ouachita Parish declares state of emergency ahead of severe weather threat

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A state of emergency has been issued for Ouachita Parish ahead of expected severe weather for the week of Feb. 10.

Effective 5 p.m. Monday on February 10, Ouachita Parish Police Jury President Shane Smiley called a State of Emergency for Ouachita Parish due to the threat of flooding for the week of Feb. 10.

Another surge of moisture is expected throughout the day Tuesday and again into Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The last of the moisture is expected to move out Thursday morning.
