Officials confirm first case of COVID-19 in Jackson Parish

JACKSON PARISH, La. (KNOE) - The Jackson Parish Sheriff's Office says the parish now has its first case of COVID-19.

In a post on Facebook, they say, "As of today we are aware of several people who have been tested for the COVID-19 in Jackson Parish. We have been notified that we have one positive case in our Parish. The next report from the Louisiana Department of Health should show that information on the map."

At the last update at noon, health officials said, as of March 24, that includes 7 cases in Ouachita, 2 cases in Lincoln, 1 case in Richland, and 1 case in Catahoula.
