OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - A Ouachita Parish woman is accused of threatening to burn down a daycare after someone refused to give her a ride.
According to arrest records, 37-year-old Kristen Obier was in the area of 165 Rowland Drive Wednesday afternoon when she approached someone and asked him for a ride home.
When the person denied the ride, Obier reportedly pointed to a nearby daycare and said, "See that daycare over there? Better watch out because it's about to burn down."
Obier's alleged comments were reported to law enforcement. The deputy reported that when he made contact with Obier, who was seen walking south on Rowland Drive, she was acting odd, so he placed her in handcuffs for his safety.
165 Rowland Drive is listed as the address for Jelly Bean Junction.
The owner of the daycare said that there were approximately 90 young children inside.
Obier denied making the comments and denied knowing any of the people who reported her.
Kristen Obier was arrested and booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on one count of terrorizing, which is a felony.
