MONROE, La. (KNOE) Authorities have arrested a man they say was being monitored after threatening to violently kill his ex.

According to documents filed with the 4th Judicial Court in Ouachita Parish, Patrick Obier was ordered to wear an ankle monitoring device as a condition of his bail on a charge of stalking. A warrant was filed for his arrest after he allegedly cut that monitor off his ankle.

Court documents state that Obier had been arrested for stalking after threatening to cut the victim's body "into pieces". OPSO investigators say the threats were made to a third party. Before that arrest, the victim reported in late 2017 that Obier had been driving slowly by her home and parking outside her home late at night.

Obier has two previous stalking charges against him from 2003. The victim was different in those cases. Obier's history also includes charges of disturbing the peace, criminal mischief, simple assault, multiple DWI's, and roughly two dozen traffic offenses.
