OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Authorities in Ouachita Parish say a man who professed to have used meth earlier in the day invaded a home on Ingleside Drive over the weekend.
Arrest records indicate that Kevin James Villar, of Gonzales, Louisiana, walked into the victims' home through the front door, which was unlocked. The victims told Ouachita Parish deputies that Villar had a claw hammer in his hand and was yelling that people were trying to get him.
They say Villar then paced in the hallway before going to the kitchen and picking up a butcher knife. At this point, the three people inside say they left the house and as soon as they were outside, they say, they heard loud banging from inside.
When deputies arrived, they found that Villar had locked himself in the bathroom and was smashing the floors and walls with his hammer. When deputies asked the suspect why he did this, he allegedly told them that he was trying to get away from "them." When asked about drug use, deputies say Villar told them he had used meth earlier in the day.
Villar is charged with home invasion. Bond is listed at $7,500.00.
