OPSO: Man kidnapped, robbed after stopping to help person lying beside roadway

OUACHITA PARISH, La. (KNOE) - Authorities in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, say three people have been arrested after a ploy that involved someone pretending to be injured near a roadway.

It happened on November 14th, 2018, in the Cadeville area southwest of West Monroe. The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's office says the victim approached the intersection of Highways 546 and 151, near West Ouachita High School, and saw a man lying beside the roadway. When the victim stopped to help, the man on the ground pulled out a gun and forced the victim back into his vehicle.

Investigators say the suspect then forced the victim to drive to another location, where he was robbed by three people. According to an arrest report, the victim's watch and cash were stolen. The suspects were arrested on November 17th during a traffic stop.

The suspects arrested are 22-year-old Lainey Jeanette Beaver, of Calhoun, 23-year-old Dequrries Deshawn Moss, of West Monroe, and a 16-year-old juvenile. All the suspects were charged with aggravated kidnapping and armed robbery. Moss was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
