Each of its nursing home facilities came up with its own theme for the games and competed in different events from skits, to bowling and wheelchair races.

Paramount Healthcare marketing director Jessica Zylicz says although it’s a competition, it’s a great time for all of the residents and their families.

“Our residents get to participate in craft projects and art, and they get to make things, and they get to be a part of something,” Zylicz says. “This brings them joy, to be honest. It's fun to see them participate in it. It's fun to see them dance and get excited. It's just a really fun time for all of us."

The games began in 2008.
