The state federation of teachers put out a survey Monday that asks teachers what they're willing to do for more money.
It shows 61% say they're for some statewide walkout.
Seventy-eight percent say they've considered walking away from the classroom.
This all follows a 10-year wait for a pay raise and better work environment.
A local rep with the union said this has been in the works for some months now.
"We have a workforce that is declining for any number of reasons, and in the end, the end game is--who's going to be there for our children? We always say education is a top priority, but actions speak louder than words," Sandie Lollie, Monroe Federation of Teachers' President, said.
