MONROE, La. (KNOE) - New Saint James Missionary Baptist Church opening their clothing bank. They say they have clothing and shoes for men, women, and children.

Vance Price is the church's pastor. He says Monroe has grown so much in the past few years and they wanted to be able to address the needs of the community.

Price says they've got hygiene items too, like deodorant, toothbrushes, and diapers.

The clothing bank is located in the church's education building. That's where their grand opening will be Saturday at 11 a.m.

Price says they're also looking for purse donations this Mother's Day weekend so they can give them to women coming out of domestic violence situations. He says they'll put sunglasses in purses and give them to the Wellspring.

Price says having a nice purse can make a woman feel special.

They'll take purse donations until the end of May. If you have clothes to donate they say you can drop them off at the church throughout the year.
